Purchased research that was originally initiated for entity should be expensed.
Purchased research that was originally initiated for 3rd party should be capitalised .
Correct?
Hi,
It looks like you’ve been working hard. Any research performed by ourselves for ourselves is recognised through profit or loss.
If we are doing research for a 3rd party then we would be looking at revenue recognition issues with regards the sale of the intangible.
Hope that helps.
Thanks
A research which was initiated for company A but during research it was bought by Company B (entity in question). As it is purchased it should be capitalised right?
If we purchase an intangible then we capitalise it.
