    Dear John,

    Good day.

I really feel devastated . I failed P1 & P3 with 35 and 47 marks respectively again. My last exam should be Jun 2017. I left with P1, P3 and one optional paper. I have passed P6.

I passed most of papers at first attempt. But I just cannot pass theory paper in professional level. English is not my primary language and it is quite a pain to write fast in professional manner under exam condition. Maybe that is the reason why I tend to fail theory paper. Also, I cannot complete all questions and always left one question unattempted.

I decided to retake P1 & P3 at coming Sept sitting. Now my question is which optional paper to choose P4 vs P5. I used to choose P5 but failed. I am very close to pass Paper 3.7 (47 marks) under previous course structure. Given that, shall I change to P4? Is P4 mostly same as Paper 3.7? If yes, can I self study it with the help of opentuition only? Many thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Vincent

From what you have written it does sound as though you would be better taking P4 instead of P5. P5 has a lot more theory questions than P4, and although there have been syllabus changes P4 is still similar to the old Paper 3.7.

You can study it just by using our free lectures (although obviously the more reading the better), but you must buy a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers because question practice is vital.
