    Hi all,

Is 8 weeks enough time to prepare for the P2 exam.
I work full time and will be studying roughly 15hrs a week.
Any recommendations on how to study for the exam?
I’ve just bought the up to date Kaplan complete learning kit.
Also is there anywhere to get a summary of all the accounting standards?

    Thanks

    Roshan

    Hi,

You will find it very difficult but it is not impossible to do and will depend on how disciplined you are and what knowledge you’ve retained from F7.

I’d see how you get on for the first few weeks and then make a decision then.

With regards to studying then I’d work through the class notes and videos, practising any questions in the notes and the study text. Once you’ve completed them you will then be ready to start revision. Please be aware though that there is a huge step up from the teaching to the revision and being able to answer the challenging questions posed by this paper.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.

I got exemptions from all the F exams so my knowledge is limited to my university days 6 years ago. I have passed P1, P3 and P5 first time in past two years with similar study times. I think you are right and to see how I feel in a few weeks.

Is there anywhere I can get a summary of all the standards and what articles for the current issue should i read?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve never provided a summary of the standards as I think it is a good learning exercise for students to do by themselves.

For the current issues I’d use the ACCA’s CPD site and also any artices on the P2 exam site.

    Good luck

    Thanks
