I didn’t calculate EPS, i did like this:P/E=19
hence earnings is given calculate total market capitalizationP/3.6 =19
P= 19×3.6
p=68.4hence NCI will be 20%of 68.4
NCI = 13.68This is what I got.

Question 3Section a was on operating segments. Two segments. I firstly explained operating segment, reporting segment, 10% rule, 75% rule, aggregation rule and then applied it to scenario.
Lab 1 I thought was not an operating segment as revenues were not earned independently and chief operating decision maker did not review performance and allocate resources.
Lab 2 was a reportable segment. I explained how it met the criteria.Yes. I did the same. The rest of Q3 is bs

Absolutely hated this exam, Q1 was ridiculous!! I don’t know about you all but I find it really hard to determine what the appropriate standards are from the description given. The exam kits all seem to be able to give a specific answer but on reading the scenario about 3 times and starting to write something I then changed my mind part way through! I am definitely going to be retaking this exam in September π
June 9, 2015 at 5:41 pm #255675Hi! Same here. Exam was so difficult. So much unexpected. I really don’t feel like I’m gonna pass. This was my 1st attempt. Really hoping good for all of us.
June 9, 2015 at 5:45 pm #255682I think Q4 was the easiest q in the whole exam.
Q1 was quite difficult.
the exam has covered too many areasJune 9, 2015 at 5:46 pm #255684I thought the paper was fair but a lot to read and think about and with your pulse racing it all merged in to one jumble of words and numbers!
Prior to starting I had decided I wasn’t going to do Q4 but after reading it, thought it was a good question so choose to do it. If you had read the technical articles on “Concepts of Profit or Loss and OCI” and “Integrated Reporting” you would have been able to answer it.
Hopefully done enough to pass…………

I did it like this too,
Fv. = 19*3.6then *20%June 9, 2015 at 5:55 pm #255690Hi @all,
I did not prepare at all for the paper as I had no time, meaning I read maybe 3 hours old papers. I wrote F7 not too long ago and also sat P7 this June, meaning I had some basic knowledge.
I cannot assess whether it was difficult, I just went there knowing that I will fail for sure and did what I could do and saw it as good chance to get a real test. Never had such a relaxed ACCA exam π
What’s good: I also calculated NCI as most of us resulting in 13.68 mio.
What’s bad: my asset differ from my liabilities by 50 mio…I wish you best luck to pass!
June 9, 2015 at 6:01 pm #255696I found this paper quite tough… I knew there was a trick to the P/E ratio but I couldn’t remember for the life of me how the P/E ratio is built up so I just used 19 as the NCI which I knew was wrong but I couldn’t dwell on it as I could do a few of the other bits e.g. the foreign property impairment.
Despite screwing up the NCI working I hope I’ve done enough in the other bits to pass this….
June 9, 2015 at 6:02 pm #255698September 2015 guys! lol
At least we don’t have to wait 6 months

Completely and utterly demoralizing. I know I faltered over the last week with my practice and revision. After P5 I was just on overload mode. But felt like I had practiced a significant amount over the past 6 weeks. That consolidation question was bonkers. I saw nothing like this in exam kits or pass papers. I felt like all the preparation was in vein for Q1. Q3 was okay but I barely made it through Q2. Think this is definitely a resit. Sigh!
June 9, 2015 at 6:33 pm #255718I think September is looming…. never mind better luck all next time.
I was wondering next time study the Technical Articles well. Q4 was all there really and the examiners love to test these areas.
Q1 – I reckon you needed more than 90 minutes to complete it all (that of course if you knew all the answers), which was not the case as it required a lot of thought, which with the time constraint, there is not much I am afraid.
June 9, 2015 at 6:44 pm #255724Its a disaster paper, I only managed to attempt 75% of the marks which I don’t think will be sufficient to pass,
Good luck everybody, I will start prepare for the new September 2015 sittingJune 9, 2015 at 6:48 pm #255726So nice to see some of you also calculated NCI 13.68! π
@salmiak,
My total assets also were different on about 50M from equity+liabilities (June 9, 2015 at 6:51 pm #255729It looks like a disaster for everybody so far…. I only saw one positive post on a possible pass.
It will be interesting to see the pass rate for this sitting. I think it was not easy at all.
June 9, 2015 at 6:52 pm #255731This paper was very challenging. Felt the examiner was too focused on trying to catch us out with clever wording in Q1. I had prepared myself to deal with some unknown issues however this paper seem to be a completely different style to all previous papers. I think I’ve probably lost some of the marks which I would have hoped would have been a given – ie NCI!
Also Q1 consisted of a lot of different standards – took me longer than 1.5 hrs needed but felt the time was well spent so I should hopefully get the ethics marks!…Chose Q3/Q4 as options and think i made the right choice – hope they get me to a pass mark.
June 9, 2015 at 6:55 pm #255733I did exactly like you – and had the same problems with time. But not sure if I pass. I tried to write as much as I can but again not sure if they hot the right answers. Good luck.
June 9, 2015 at 7:34 pm #255748By the way, results of P2 December instant poll was: 44% – hard, 31% – disaster. But the average pass rate was 50, in trend with other exams!
So let’s hope markers would be generous this time πJune 9, 2015 at 8:06 pm #255759I guess paper of consolidation will be decisive in pass and failed status…..above all pray….. Pray….pray….

After, reading the first part of the paper, I was not sure whether I’m sitting for the right exam. So, I rechecked the cover.
It took one and half hours for the part A question (Only consolidation part). So, I couldn’t manage time for answer others. I didn’t spent time to read all questions in part B. I just attempted Q 2 and Q 3. But, now I feel Q4 would be easier. Could be score for part B in some extent if sufficient time available.
So, there is no option other than to resit……
June 9, 2015 at 9:04 pm #255784@Sangria9
funny that we have the same difference πI just ignored everything I had no idea on… and that was much!
Not only for Q1 but for the whole exam.I am really excited about result, I bet on 30%… and thinking about taking September exams…
June 9, 2015 at 9:25 pm #255799I did the same thing i hope it is correct
