    Hi,

It’s taking me approx. one hour to get all the Q1 workings completed to a comprehensive level.

If my workings are well labelled, how many marks am I potentially losing out of the 35 if I don’t complete say the SOFP?

I’m conscious that there are 15 potentially easier marks in parts b and c, so how many marks am I forfeiting if I move on to part b in the exam after one hour?

    Thanks,
    Gavin

    Hi,

Maybe you need to address your exam technique. Maybe do parts (b) and (c) first so that you can then spend the rest of the time on part (a).

You wouldn’t lose huge amounts of marks if you get the workings correct but there are marks available for adjusting the financial statements so you would lose out on these. Is it taking you so long as you are writing out explanations too? If so, you do not need to do this; all you need to do is crunch the numbers.

    Thanks

Thanks. Yeah, probably going into too much detail on workings. I’ve the full weekend to try and master it so hopefully it all falls into place next Tues.
