While calculating new payable or receivable on early settlement discount questions, sometimes we consider discount and other time we just ignore it. Can u please explain on this matter? And is both method correct?

I do specifically explain in my free lectures that the examiner is not consistent on this point – sometimes he ignores the discount and sometimes he doesn’t. However he has said that full marks will be given whether or not it is ignored (and the amount involved has never affected the final decision).
