Apologies if this question has been asked before but I was wondering if we need to quote standards in P2 answers.
When I was study P7 Mike said there were no marks for quoting standards so is it the same for P2?
January 26, 2017 at 8:56 pm #369854Hi,
It is the same in P2 as all other subjects. You do not need to quote the standard number. I’d even try and not do it even if you think that you know which one it is.
Thanks
January 28, 2017 at 11:34 am #370040Thanks for that. One less thing to worry about. So it’s application, application, application!
January 28, 2017 at 10:48 pm #370077Hi there
excuse me but if you can clarify whether it is that we don’t need to name the standard ( i.e just saying the relevant standard requires …) or we don’t need to write the number of the standard itself(IAS16 and IAS34)
Appreciate it

January 30, 2017 at 9:24 pm #370311Hi,
YOu don’t need to write the standard number and the name of the standard comes through naturally from the appliation. If you’re talking about revenue then it is the revenue standard you’d be using and would mention, leases then it is the lease standard.
Thanks
January 31, 2017 at 11:22 am #370352that’s a relief, thanks you very much
but I’m just wondering why would they not give a credit for mentioning the number, doesn’t it sound more professional?
February 1, 2017 at 9:45 pm #370675No credit and if you’re ever talking to a client you wouldn’t mention the standard numbers either.
