Emcee uses the revaluation model to measure its stadiums. The director have been offered $100m from an airline for the property naming rights of all the stadiums for three years.
sir can you explain me the following question
1) what is “NAMING RIGHT” ?
2) Should this be taken into account in the valuation of the stadium and why ?
Hi,
The naming rights are where the sponsor gets to put its name to the stadium. So in England Arsenal’s ground is known as the Emirates as Emirates have the naming rights, and similarly with Manchester City who play at the Etihad stadium.
Yes, this would be taken into account in the valuation as it is what a party is willing to pay to be able to put its name to the stadium, thus reflecting the fair value.
Thanks
