    Hi,

    Can I please get your help on this?

    June 2015 Q1 past exam paper – I thought we would need to increase the equity shares issued for the parent as we issued 20m shares as consideration for the sub and we are told nothing was dealt with for the acquisition of this sub? So I thought the share cap would be 63 rather than 43?

    Sorry for the silly question but it confused me slightly.

    Hi Amanda,

    You’re correct about the treatment for the shares, in that the share capital of the parent would be increased by $20m. I’ve had a look at the answer too and it shows the share capital being increased from $43m to $63m.
