Hello
Sir, in June 19 Q31 it says that calculate reduction in Dembe’s ITL and NIC for tax year 18/19 if she makes personal pension contribution of 32000 (net) before 5 April 19. You are not required to prepare full tax computation.
Sir here basically the question is saying to do working at margin, correct? But suppose in exam we do not do working at margin and instead do full tax computation , so will examiner deduct marks for it?
The comments made by the examiner are there to help you not to punish you – marks will not be deducted for doing the full computation but to do it that way will take much longer and in so doing you will almost certainly lose marks as you will probably not have enough time to finish the exam and will leave other questions unanswered as a result!
My advice is to look at how you should work in the margin and apply that technique.
