Respected tutor
In case the iso contri line is steep what does this represents – The contri pu for product on the y axis is more than that on the x axis or vice versa?Thank you in advance
November 4, 2022 at 9:11 am #670655It depends on how you label the axes (they do not have to be labelled as x and y), and whether or not you use the same scales on each axis (you do not have to).
However, if the product represented on the horizontal axis has a greater contribution per unit than the product represented on the vertical axis, then the iso-contribution line will be steeper than it would be if the contributions were the other way round.
However it would be astonishing if this were to be asked in the exam in the way that you have written it. (And, of course, you cannot ever be required to produce the graph yourself even though you must understand it.)
Have you watched my free lectures on linear programming? The lectures are a complete free course for Paper PM and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
