Do you need to know the spellings etc for the Islamic words? Or do you only need to know what the words mean? Eg would the question only say explain what is meant by murabaha for example? Or could the question say detail all the Islamic finance transactions and what they mean?
Thanks
May 27, 2014 at 7:19 pm #171242MURABAHA is arabic word .. you can use any spelling for it just like your name ……..
but it will tested in detail in june 2014 …whole concepts of islamic finance ,,, advantages and disadvantages of modarba and musharka …May 28, 2014 at 5:14 pm #171473Hi Emma, that’s exactly what I want to know as well, Anyone out there able to help?
June 3, 2014 at 11:04 pm #173479That is a really good question. Judging by the past exam questions it always asks a question like explain the concept of Riba (Interest) or like explain the term Mudaraba. But we do need more clarity on this issue!
July 5, 2014 at 2:12 pm #178204I think you need to understand the concepts but the actual transliterated Arabic word will be given a brief explanation of the English version in the exam question. This is based on the (admittedly few) exam questions on Islamic finance I’ve seen at F9 and P4.
July 5, 2014 at 5:00 pm #178212Do not worry about the spelling – only the concepts involved.
The ACCA does not deduct marks for spelling in any exams.October 3, 2022 at 4:56 pm #667801I want to understand islamic finance well please
