    Hi,

Could you perhaps advise what the key difference is between the UK and INT version? I am trying to understand which version I should best study for.

    Hi Paula,

You should study the variant that is most useful to you in your line of work. If you are likely to be working on businesses that use UK GAAP then sit the UK variant and if not then sit the other variant. If you’ve studied F7/FR under the INT variant then I’d recommend that you sit SBR under the same variant.

    Thanks

    Hi,
    Hoping you can help.

Does the syllabus vary much between the two options UK VS Int? I originally completed the majority of my ACCA exams based in the UK e.g I completed my Advanced Taxation exam based on UK legislation while working in the UK.

I am not in an accounting role and wont be for the foreseeable future (I mainly work in US Tax now). I am also now based in the US and have never dealt with UK GAAP before. Would I be better to stick with the UK variant or choose the international?
Is there only minor differences between the two?
And do you believe one course may have more resources than the other?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I’d recommend that you follow the INT variant, particularly given that you will have studied F7/FR under the same rules.

    Thanks

Thank you. I actually did the F7 under the Irish / UK Variant. I havent taken any international options for any exams. So It maybe sticking with the UK is best.

That makes sense, but just spend time making sure that you know the differences between the UK rules and IFRS rules as this will be examined in the UK variant.
