Q1. can an entity recognize an asset as held for sale and still continue using it ?

Q2. there is s statement in BPP textbook as ” Gains and losses on remeasurement of disposal group, that is not a discontinued operation but is held for sale, should be included in SOPL from continuing operations”. ..what does this mean ? how can a disposal group held for sale and still being in use ?

    Hi,

Q1. If we are still using the asset then it is unlikely to be available for immediate sale and therefore not an asset as held for sale.

Q2. Th disposal group may be held for sale but if it is not a significant line of business then it will not be a discontinued operation.

    Thanks
