Sir, what are the double entries for the recognition of goodwill and a gain on bargin purchase respectively?

You do not need to understand the double entries for group accounts, there is more to it than just recognising the goodwill/gain on bargain purchase. You just need to know where the goodwill is recognised and the gain on bargain purchase is recognised.
