Good morning Chris,
How would you account for renewable energy?
Is it right to classify it under intangible assets?
Many thanks,
Annette
October 18, 2017 at 9:25 pm #412379Hi,
What do you mean by renewable energy? What are you looking to account for?
Thanks

It was one of the questions in the Sept exam.
“Accounting for renewable energy”
Thanks
October 23, 2017 at 9:16 pm #412984Hi,
Without the specific question then I can’t really give too much specific advice. I’d presume that the energy provided is to be sold to other users and so would fall under IAS 2 Inventories.
Thanks
October 31, 2017 at 9:58 am #413844Thanks Chris,
Unfortunately I can’t remember the actual question – only wrote the bits I could remember right after the exam and the Sept 17 question paper has not been published.
Well I will practice all else.
Thank you once again for the simple and straight forward notes – coupled with my Kaplan text they have made the subject beautiful.
Best regards,

Annette, thanks for the kind words, and glad to be of assistance. If I manage to find the question, somehow, then I’ll try and help you out.
Thanks
