Dear Sir/Madam
I am planning to take the P2 & P7 papers in Sept 2016. But understood that P2 is a very tough paper. I got all F papers exempted and so far I’v done with P1 & P3. Im a working student and doing self studies.
1. Could you kindly guide me whether it would be possible to success the 2 papers together? Or should I take only P7 in Sept & postpone P2 upto Dec 2016 please?
2. Sine I’v not done F7, Could you also kindly guide me how should I start up and continue studying P2?
3. Any special areas I should focus please?
Thanks for your kind attention.June 3, 2016 at 9:54 am #319064Hi,
It is possible to study both papers at the same time and many students have done this in the past.
You will need to ensure that you give yourself plenty of time to study around your current work commitments, so I’d recommend setting out a study schedule as soon as possible to give yourself the maximum chance fo success.
With regards to F7 then you need to ensure that you are happy with the fundamentals of group accounts and fully up to speed with the accounting standards examined at F7. You will be able to find the F7 accounting standards in the F7 syllabus on the ACCA website.
Good luck with the studying and if you get stuck then you know where we are.
Thanks

Thanks alot for your guidence. One more thing, is it better start practicing the consolidations first or do the standars and then move on to consolidations please?
Thanks.June 7, 2016 at 2:15 pm #320314Hi,
It shouldn’t make too much of a difference but if you understand the accounting standards first then you may be able to better answer the groups questions afterwards. The reasoning behind this is that you will find the groups question doesn’t just test groups but also the calculations in the accounting standards.
Thanks
