P3 is not all about business analysis (eg IT security and project management are there), however, Q1 usually contains analysis requirements.

The examiner ensures that all the information you need for analysis is in the question. Do if the question was about the car industry you do not need to know anything about current events such as fuel prices or Tesla models. The examiner would tell you what was happening to fuel prices and would give information about new technologies.

The clue to how to analyse the scenario is in the question requirements and is in the information provided. So if you are asked to analyse the environment, use PESTEL; competitive environment implies 5 Forces; portfolio analysis probably implies BCG.

If you want to keep abreast of current developments in the real world, then the business section of any good newspaper will regularly report and analyse businesses, takeovers etc. You might be able to find some free articles on the Internet, but more and more publications are putting their material behind a pay-wall.
