A parent company which satisfies the definition of an Investment Entity is not required to consolidate entities that it controls. However, where a subsidiary of the investment entity provides services that relates to the investment entity, such a subsidiary must be consolidated.

Sir can you please say why consolidation is necessary as per the second part of the above statement?

    Hi,

It is to prevent creative accounting and the subsidiary that is controlled by the investment entity is not an investment entity so should be consolidated.

    Thanks

    Dear Sir
There is not much practice material for Strategic Business Reporting as there was for previous ACCA P2… How do you recommend we practice for this exam… Is BPP kit a good option

Can i chime in and say yes, Yes to bpp exam kit and yes to knowing all your examinable iFRS and IAS by heart like your life dependent on it. Yes to doing whatever it takes to pass the exam. Yes do doing all the p2 past year question, reading all the PQ articles especially on ivory tower and all the technical articles, because when you think you know 98.2% of everything you’re heart will be at ease because you tried your best.

    Hi,

BPP is a recognised provider of materials, to it is clearly a good option. There may not be a huge amount of past papers under the new SBR but the old PS questions will have been updated in the revision kit to reflect the new style of question in SBR.

    Thanks
