can there be a reversal of impairment on goodwill ? If yes/no why so ?
Hi,
Once goodwill has been impaired then it cannot be reverses. The reason is that the increase in goodwill now comes about from internal factors within the group and as such it would be internally generated goodwill, and IAS 38 does not allow the recognition of internally generated goodwill as it cannot be measured reliably.
Thanks
