Hi.
if a sole trader buys a car that qualifies for FYA but also uses it for personal use (say 20%), will the FYA be apportioned in this case?
The FYA is indeed never time apportioned irrespective of the length of accounting period in which the asset is purchased. A private use adjustment however in respect of private use by a proprietor of an unincorporated trade will always apply whether the allowance is a WDA or FYA
