What was the answer to the first MCQ? 3.71 or 3.50?
I also found that even by process of elimination I ended up with 2 options…

What was the treatment for interest of 150k in NPV question?
I am not happy with this exam πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™

    I got it as 3.50.

I left the interest of Β£150k – apparently i was wrong to do so?

I think no treatment for interest Part Because interest is no relevant and also interest is incorporated into calculations through W.a.c.c which was 12%.
So i just do nothing with interest redraft statement and remove interest thats all
I got something like 4375 type NPV i think not sure

Did anyone get the money market hedge question on the multiple choice, I could not get an answer that was on the list of options, so I picked A I think which was closest to what I could get. also I hate that it doesn’t state if the are borrowing the money to do this hedge or if the have their own money to use.

Harder than expected! Some mcq’s were hard and ambiguous but others were easier.

Longer question were similar sort of standard to previous exams in my opinion. I don’t think anyone would’ve expected the cash budget (q1) to pop up.

The two 15 markers I found the most manageable.

In the cash budget I had a closing balance at the end of March was 990,000 and a current ratio of 1.65.

The mv of convertibles I got $111 after using the historical growth method to calculate the value of the conversion.

P/E ratio was a very ambiguous question, I just said that the P/E ratio valued the shares at less than market value.

Question 3 was about FOREX risk. I can’t remember much about this but one of the easier questions I felt.

I ended up with an NPV of around 2.5m.

There were a few revisions that could be mentioned.

    Interest shouldn’t be included
    It ignored t5
    Only inflated 1st year
Depreciation was done straight line rather than reducing balance.

For WACC I got just over 10% but everyone’s will differ as it needed IRR to be calculated to get Kd.

Did you get 12 discount factor? I got 2510 NPV positive

i know you have to complete all ‘F’ papers before progressing onto the ‘P’ papers or you can sit say F9 with P1, however if you’ve passed P1, P2 & P3 could you sit F9 with P7?

I can’t remember exactly, but something about that and I used 12% cost of capital for my discount factor.

    I used 12% too

Yes once you had attempted all papers of F level either passed or not you can proceed to P level and later on come back to F level if any paper got failed and not attempted after that ,,,,,,

I sat for f7 n f9. In both exams I faced same kind of MCQs!
Earlier exam style was good. To me pass mark will highly depend on no. of correct MCQs. Don’t know what will happen!!!!!!!!

    Hi,

No you don’t you have to complete them but you do have to show that you taking all the F papers first. For example, I did F7 and P1 last sitting even though I still had F9 outstanding. So what I had to do is pay for all 3 exams sittings but only attempted F7 and P1

Yeah and on the Mcq, Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis, wtf! this not even part of the course or relevant to anything,!?don’t recall anything on this at least so I guessed technical. Then the Fiscal policy mcq , i could eliminate one that was to do with interest rate and knew that the tax change was one of the correct ones but then its giving the other two options on about borrowing forigen money or something to spend on public services wtf! No idea if this is Fiscal or monetary so annoying

with pass status or failed status because i came to know that to pass atleast 50% should be gained in all questions….
