    Hello,
I am planning to sit this level in December. Please, advise, I have no idea what country taxation to choose. I had a chat with ACCA, they said, I should consult with learning providers about learning material. But I have to decide what country legislation to choose. I am from Kazakhstan, and our taxation is very similar to one of Russia, but I am doing self-study, and I am now confused… should I choose Russian variant and it means I shouldn’t use material here, or should I choose UK variant and as it usually required, use Exam Kit together with OT material? Can you please consult also regarding the following. I suppose, UK taxation is used as a base for many other countries taxation (or, they are similar), so, how to know, to what extent, and which country exactly?… This I am considering because I don’t exclude working in the region other than our.
Another question, how much difficult in general this level is considered? Is it enough to spend 2 hours a day to get prepared? I have approximately 2 and a half months.

    Thank you.

I think when considering this you should primarily consider your career goals.Do you wish to be employed as an accountant in your own country in a role involving understanding taxation of citizens and other entities of your country? If you wish to do so are there legal or practical considerations which mean it will be effectively necessary for you to undertake a given taxation option. If you are interested in being a management accountant this may not be as relevant.I would suggest researching what requirements are needed legally and what qualifications are sought by employers in your given career path before undertaking further action.

For the UK variant OT lectures and notes are simply brilliant, simple and comprehensive, you really shouldn’t need anything else apart from an up-to-date revision kit.

The tutor follows a step by step approach and at beginning of each lecture provides a quick recap of the previous one.
In the notes there are also suggested questions (included in the notes) to test your understanding at the end of the chapter.

There are many details to be remembered but overall the paper is not difficult, just a matter of applying rules. There are some written bits in the exam but the paper is predominately computational.
I prepared it in 3 months.

    Good luck.

You are welcome. If you do decide to take UK version palmy is giving you spot on information. Many have passed using the materials on this site together with a practice and revision kit from a publisher such as BPP or Kaplan. If you do decide you want other materials in additional to this site these publishers also publish study texts and pass cards
