I had 40 for relavant cost, I thought the 70$ was sunk as we would employ then anyway!Yep – 40 for me, too. Lost contribution for 10 hours’ work.
September 9, 2015 at 5:47 pm #270854I chose 110 as the relevant cost. Opportunity cost + the 10 hours of labour as the question didn’t specify if they were on a fixed contract.
September 9, 2015 at 5:57 pm #270857What did people put for Q20 – The environmental one? I picked the answer that meant all were suitable for ABC except the first one relating to materials loss. Any ideas?
September 9, 2015 at 5:59 pm #270858Mcqs are difficult just 2 marks question make us to work alot…section b was not balanced no question from important top ics is like learning curve performance measurement throughput etc…very disappointed paper. ..can anyone explain how to do variance question I just calculate sale price volume and planning and operational variances as I didn’t understand how to solve….

hope you are right because i got 35 too, although it seemed far too straight forward to be correct, so I ended up dwelling on it.For the shadow price one, since one had a shadow price of zero, I deemed it to not be a constraint. The other’s didn’t make sense or were wrong to me. Open to other suggestions!
September 9, 2015 at 6:05 pm #270862I did relevant cost 40 coz it said labour due to industrial dispute not willing to work ..so due to not having 10 hour work business lost contribution 40 ….
And for graph I choose 3 because the actual performance at that point on peek …September 9, 2015 at 6:13 pm #270863@grimeacologist said:
Anyone else struggle with the question on weighted average for the percentages of overall satisfaction of the bus company? The question just baffled me for what was only a 2 mark question it was not worded very well and confusing. The problem is it led into the higher mark questions which were discursive based on your answer too this. In real life I would be able to ask for clarification on a requirement if I didn’t understand, however here I can only hope that I understood and responded correctly. Maybe I just didn’t understand the subject well enough, huh?I thought this was the easiest question in section B. Calculate three customer satisfaction figures and comment on what the Bus Co manager said i.e. did it agree with the figures given and those calculated?
September 9, 2015 at 6:22 pm #270866I had minimax regret of 600 bunches.
Breakeven chart was a constant mix, so no need to calculate individual profits or points on graph. I think my break even was around 345,000?
Sales operational variances I calculated on contribution per unit as opposed to sales price.
Did anyone else get similar?
Mcq were really time consuming I had to guess a few.

2 is like a current standard which provides no motivation to employees
For the environmental accounting question : I picked the last three costs, first one is related to flow cost accounting
For the price for demand to be 0 question : $35
For relevant cost question : $110
For the goods received notes question : range check & sequence check
For the level of information question : first one is tactical, second one is operational
Can’t remember the others
September 9, 2015 at 6:37 pm #270870Looks like i got the relevant costing answer wrong. I did lost contribution £40 + hourly rate £70 = £110. Thinking about it now, it should have been £40 because labour was employed anyway so they would’ve been paid the hourly rate regardless.
what did you guys get for CVP ratio? Think I got 0.6.
September 9, 2015 at 7:01 pm #270873What did people do for the ROI and RI mcq question?
I’m not sure but I think I put RI accept and ROI reject. Hope that was right
RI went from 60 to 62.5 if I remember correctly

I meant C/S ratio as 0.6 not CVP

Yes, 3 is correct.
September 9, 2015 at 7:26 pm #270880what about the very first question on ABC costing?
think i got the overheads to 0.116 and then added the extra 1 direct cost, came to 1.12$ p.u? might be wrong. Also the one where it was joint processing, i remember thinking reject first one, accept second.

I meant C/S ratio as 0.6 not CVPYes, I got 60 point something percent, which I think is quite a high ratio. I then converted it to a percentage for no apparent reason!

For ABC question, I might get $1.02. Can’t remember exactly. Anyone else got $1.02 ?
For joint processing question, yes, reject the first and accept the second
September 9, 2015 at 7:44 pm #270887fair paper

I’m pretty sure I did the same. £1.12 rings a bell and I remember rejecting one and accepting one, but can’t remember which!

I did the same. I think this is quite a common scenario!
September 9, 2015 at 10:13 pm #270910@duc hung, I did the same as you for those questions. For the minimax I got 600 bunches. For the relevant cost question I put $110 but see now why this maybe wrong…
September 9, 2015 at 10:17 pm #270911Yeah it was an easy question, but I think it was unnecessarily drawn out for something as easy as that. I kept pouring over it thinking I missed something or misunderstood.
September 9, 2015 at 10:32 pm #270912got 650 too
