need some clarity on question 4 – the profit we had to calculate was at the current transfer price of $40 and not the external supplier price of $37???March June hybrid paper is out – https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/fun/f5/j16_hybrid_F5_q.pdf
i Calculated profit per unit if we buy component from external at 37 and calculated current profit (contribution less fixed cost) and then their differnce was the incremental profit if we chose to buy from external.

Ohh what were they to nearly ?And sorry but last question what was your school choice clousier
I did the School 1 to be closed.
And also suggested 24 to 37 transfer pricing in question 4.In variance question part B we had to explain the sales planning nd operational variance and then had to discuss on performance, right?
i supposd explanation of 2 marks and discussion on performance of 3 mrks.June 11, 2016 at 4:17 am #322281AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

June 11, 2016 at 6:04 am #322290God the tansfer pricing question gets me so confused…and I really should review the examiner’s report as the last MCQ is almost identical to the one highlighted on the report!

However, transfer price ques was not that much difficult as compare to the last one.June 11, 2016 at 8:18 am #322316The objective part was very difficult, most of the answers i was guessing,. but the theory part was okay, i always use to close school 3.
June 11, 2016 at 9:53 am #322336This was a weird one. I felt prepared after hours of question practice and revision, was comfortable walking into that exam and felt confident enough that I could get half of it correct. I came out so disappointed as I have certainly failed. I felt that the questions were harder than any previous year (except the ABC one and the graph with revenue, fixed costs and total costs). I spent a good deal of time on the last question trying to work out what part of the syllabus it was testing. The multiple choice questions were v theoretical and guessed many of them. Didn’t like the variance question either, have they ever asked for these before, market size and share? Some parts of the syllabus were ignored completely eg linear programming.
I guess you can feel prepared but then the examiner can test you in such a way that it exposes that you actually aren’t.
Oh well, will try again in September.June 11, 2016 at 10:06 am #322339sure BED 24000

I did the sales quantity variances x standard contributions. I got favorable for first and adverse for second about 15k adverse I think. Same for operational I got a
Favorable and an adverse. Overall favoritable.Question three which was this?

The exam is fairly easy to pass if you prepare well. The examiners come up with lots of easy questions and a little bit of difficult ones. It is not as difficult as what they usually say.June 13, 2016 at 4:40 pm #322764I’m grasping at straws – do you think that its possible to gain 1 mark for just choosing to close down the correct school in section B Q5?
June 13, 2016 at 8:35 pm #322807This paper was the worst… i was even thinking what the examiner think of us as student to complete this paper in the allocated time and the question was so terrible… i just hope i pass 🙂
June 15, 2016 at 2:23 pm #323040The MCQs were tough. These questions required many calculations and were very time consuming.
June 15, 2016 at 3:19 pm #323050In question 4, I think it is better to transfer 120 because that is all the demand they have. The rest should be sold because it can help the company gain benefit overall.
As I remember, I chose to close school 3 too but it only happens if I need to do so. Basically it is still possible to run all 3
The question is not terribly hard but it needs really fresh mind, well-prepare and techniques to make sure you answer them all within limited time.
The question 4 and 5 are pretty long and just thinking about how to present answer to show that you understand it clearly can take lots of your time.June 15, 2016 at 6:52 pm #323103I agree there was a lot of calculations required in this paper and didn’t really get a break from that in the mcqs hence why I guessed probably half of them, just didn’t have enough time. First exam paper I haven’t even had time to go over and check my answers at the end! Tough tough tough!
June 16, 2016 at 9:36 am #323143Are there any suggested answers for section A?
June 16, 2016 at 11:41 am #323157Are the results out the w/c 18th July? Is there any chance they could be released earlier?
June 16, 2016 at 2:16 pm #323169Yes the break -even revenue was 90, 000. then question was what will be the profit if the company decides to train only 500 athletes. when you traces from the graph, you could see that, at 500 athletes, the total revenue will be $140, 000 and the total cost will be $120,000. profit is JUST, P=TR-TC. 140,000-120,000.
So the profit will $ 20,000. - AuthorPosts
