I’m pretty sure the bottleneck was the machine hours as there was enough labour hours to meet all production demand but not enough machine hours.

Part b question 5 was shut down decision…so shouldn’t it be base on contribution per limiting factor…..and limiting capacity so i used this technic and my answer was school 2 as it gave lowest contribution per capacity…..

but i am not so sure……

i found this exam really hard, I’ve thought I was very prepared, ,but it took such a long time to work out what the examiner wanted and then when I started to attempt the question I started running out of time ! I found the exam did not follow the standard of the last four years and was more about understand rather than technique, there was a lot of work for just a few points , I just hoping I passed

What did you choose for question 5? I closed school 2 because it had less cost when you close

I did assume it irrelevant too. So lucky.
In Q5, my calculation shows every closure of each school will gain so i just pick the most profitable.

Exactly what I thought too! said we cant compare as we dont know any margin markup under absoprtion…and stated advantages/limitations of ABC instead..

My opinion, it’s said that they use full cost plus pricing whilst price is same so unit cost of them is the same.
What did you get in Q4 ” incremental profit/loss per component”? The spare cap made me confused.

LOL what happened to the Linear programming? I spent so much time on shadow pricing. Strange I had ignored marketing ratios knew the Yield etc. Loved the ABC question. Looks very much like June 2015 Q1 BECKLEY HILL. I revised this question just before the exam. Amazing!

    Hi,
This was harder than I thought. I managed to touch all the questions in B. The MCQ’s were too hard. some of them i just quessed. I covered most of the syllabus; at least 95% very well. I just hope I will get the 50% the want.
