@Sophiemuzz, No idea. I believe maybe it will be available 2 or 3 weeks. But that’s just my intuition.

    @Christa
, I would suggest you look at the most obvious answers posted here by other ACCA students. The most commonly posted answers are ‘likely’ to be correct.

For everyone who also was confused about the paper, your not alone many of us did not understand what the questions were asking for the questions asked were not informative, how can a candidate deduce an answer when he can’t even guess what the question is asking for? ACCA should make it’s questions more clear and concise, we are not here to play hide and seek, to assess something we need proper information. I hope the ACCA Team can understand that people are wasting their valuable time and money. Another 5 months of my life have been wasted along with the cash I spent on tuition, syllabus material and resource kits.

q5 is tricky – thay did not make it clear how many components X should be bought – after they take dicision to manufacture it or without taking this decision ?

I’m not really sure why all the negative comments. MCQ were pretty much by the book, easy calculations. If I have miscalculated something or took wrong variables to come to the conclusion I think it is all on me since MCQ were straightforward.
Now, do I think learning stuff about Management information systems or data capture by heart is really worth anything – that is not the point. It is in the syllabus so you take 2 days and you learn it.

Regarding B part of the test, I would also argue that generally speaking it was ok. This is my first ACCA test ever (I got exemptions for 1,2 and 3, and skipped F4 for now) and I think it was a decent test. I think it is fair to highlight what everybody said (ACCA themselves if you read the examiners reports for example) and Mr Moffat as well that for F5 you need to practice how to read questions (what verbs are used, what data is relevant…) and how to explain your calculations. It was not meant to be just calculations.

I did not actually come across anything that I could say was out of the syllabus. Certainly not whole test or even half test.

Just for the info, I was studying using Kaplan book and exam kit, and went through all OpenTution videos and questions. OpenTuition really helped me to understand the logic of F5 and how to approach each type of question.

But, I just opened the F5 December exam that is posted here on Opentuition and out of those 5 question I only had 3rd one (Organic bread Company) and the 5th one (Cardale Industrial Metal Co). Those other 3 I did not have. I cannot remember all the other I did have but I do remember one with dental practice and budgeting (Mr Molar).

This was my first paper in ACCA and to be frank,This was one of the worst exam I have done ever…… I worked hard practising revision kit, doing past papers and qns from other books relating to particular topics (not all)..
The mcqs were quite fine apart from one question on expected values I remember….I just played a luck game with it……
Question 1(The most easiest and relaxing)
    Question 2(kind of tricky)
    Question 3(pretty good one)
    Question 4(better)
    Question 5(worst ever)

I totally agree with what was written above. This is the 3 dr time I am sitting F5 and it`s becoming indeed harder and harder. The questions are so tricky, and nothing like the ones in the Study Kit. I really hope for a magic!

The 5th and the 2nd question were awfull!

    Last time I got 49.

Very tough……… compared to Dec 14 (missing 1 mark top pass) & June 15.Mcq tricky, some unable to reach answer…Q5. catastrophic…Great need for the examiner to review the paper, set a paper to certain level of difficulty not all questions, q2 information not clear…Need to w8 for result now………..

    yes 3h x 0.80 $

Ah yes that is what I did, maybe I did come up with $23 after all

So if I did not convert the kilograms into grams ..my answer was not correct ?

I don’t think you made the error I made, I would have taken the price per kg of one of the materials and multiplied it by say 410g instead of 0.41kg. so my figures will be way out.

    Hi,

On ROI question I wrote down assumption that because it was an investment centre that HO recharges should be included. Proceeded on using current plus non current assets as capital employed. Anyone have definite answer on whether payables should have been substrated. Ended up with first boy getting 11ish and second getting 8ish .. $2400 bonus and no bonus.

On Q2 what were the calcs to get the $900000 option 1 answer. I multiplied all the units by the throughput like you would do an EV calc .. Can’t remember what I got though as it was my last q and I was really winging it.

    Q5 – I got $23 for X – make 600 and buy 200 but the way I did it probably wasn’t too conventional.

Q1 – think I got Fav Mix that was fairly low, maybe 3 or 4 and an Ad yield in 20’s. Said more of the cheaper ingredients went into the mix therefore reducing the yield.

Q3 – Dentist one was pure waffle. Would have preferred a more straight forward question.

How do peeps remember what they put down for MCQ’s ???

MCQ’s were tough enough – thought I’d save 20 mins here but it didn’t happen. Had to pay late fee of £240 b/c I was a day late entering so hope I pull the magic 50.

The confusing questions were deliberate. Q2 and Q5 part b were not straightforward, needed one to understand throughput and limiting factor analysis and application.

I really do not understand what is their objective by confusing.

Do they want to assess the student or they want to see we are confused or not.

I agree with the opinion that ACCA should discount the fee for re-sit exam, such as the fee for re-sit should be 70% or 80% of full fee. This will be great and motivate student 🙂
