Overall was well prepared for the questions and got along with them pretty well, left question 2 until the end as there was too much info and confused me at first. In hindsight it wasn’t as tough as previous papers I practised, so hopefully I’ll get the pass. Lectures and examples covered by John were spot on. The man deserves a bottle and a Christmas card. Thanks and good luck everyone.
December 3, 2013 at 1:23 am #149352it was really different question from the previous.

I got the same thing, but confused. Is it right or wrong?
December 3, 2013 at 4:50 am #149366hi all
i got TPR 1 .6 and 0.34 or somthing any one agree with that?
December 3, 2013 at 7:02 am #149377Yea i got 1.1 and 1.43 TRAR firstly but i thought it was not correct because you will get this TPAR because of using total available machine hours 3000 hours but it should be 9000 hours because the machines were three so that theTPAR will be changed total cost per hour 12000000/9000=1333, the former one was 12 mill/3000=4000.
It makes a significant change but the final ranking decision will not be changed. The variance was adverse for the planning and favourable for the operational variances of both material and labour.
December 3, 2013 at 7:49 am #149382Yes. You will have to pay again. They don’t transfer our credit anymore.
December 3, 2013 at 8:22 am #149385when the question is going to be publish???
December 3, 2013 at 9:07 am #149405Good morning to all !
Yesterday i failed (again) for sure… I was so confused that i couldn’t make any sense from the first 3 Qs.
Q4 and Q5 were the easiest, but i didn’t do well.
Anyway, in the Q that learning curve was included, what i did was Y=ax^b = 200*8^-0.1844245
and then Y=200*7^-0.1844245. The outcomes were multiplied by 8 and 7 respectively and the difference of
these two gave the time needed for the 8th batch produced.
Then if you multiply this number with last 8 batches of november, you find the time needed for november and then
you multiply iy with $12 the hourly rate and you find the cost for november.
For the first 8 batches of july-October :
July = 200hours * 12=$2400
for the rest three months (august, september, october) you calculate “Y” for 2,3,4,5,6 products
and you do the proper calculation.
Anyway in the beginning i messed it with calculations with my calculator, so i expect nothing.
It’s a pity to know what to do and not doing it because of nervousness effect.
I am sticked to it, in june i will pass for sure.December 3, 2013 at 9:07 am #149406AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

since you did not meet up with the exam you will need to pay for the next diet. ACCA only refund if the reason for not attending is a fault on their side of the coin. so sorry, you ve just paid out a huge tax
December 3, 2013 at 9:30 am #149418Exam was pretty good if you studied. I hope to pass!
I was not expecting Operational and planning variance question this time. But overall was good.December 3, 2013 at 10:01 am #149427QUESTION 3.. LEARNING CURVE PART A… MY TOTAL LABOUR COST FROM JULY TO NOVEMBER IS $ 35000.
December 3, 2013 at 10:16 am #149430when the paper going to publish?
December 3, 2013 at 10:37 am #149437i know the feeling , u summed up exactly what i faced too, it was an horrendous paper for me, too nervous and got a complete blackout and lost interest in answering.
really annoying that acca charge so much for exams are tough and u have to bloddy wait 6 months to them again, in this age they should have an exam every month or 3 months. anyways i am frustrated as well and hopefully will pass next time
