Hello, in the FR exam, I think I made a mistake in the calculation of the Net assets, because of which my calculated figures for NCI, Group retained earnings and goodwill are in jeopardy. How many marks may I loose? Though the rest of my sum ( financial statement and the working notes) are correct and are presented properly. Thank you.
I would consider asking this on the ask the tutor forum if you want a precise answer. Usually you will be able to obtain marks for the various parts of the calculation. Therefore you will not have lost all the marks merely because you made a mistake with part of the calculation. Hope this helps.
@Dany@3081 – if you look at the marking scheme to the FR Mock Exam in the CBE Platform you will see that marks are only ever lost once – under the “own figure rule” candidates are never penalised because an error flows through to later numbers.
Thank you for all your answers! It really helped me, get out of the panic mode. Thank you.
You are welcome.
