I’d recommend that you read the chapter on associates and watch the accompanying videos. This should answer your questions above, and if there is then anything that you do not fully understand then please ask on the forum.
I cannot just explain the fundamental concepts to you, especially when the information is at your fingertips. You need to do the work and then ask the questions, sorry.
