Dear Tutor,
If an item of PPE has been revalued upwards and there is an additional depreciation charge, why is the difference between the new depreciation expense and the would-have-been depreciation expense taken to revaluation reserve in the SFP? and not taken to the retained earnings without hitting the revaluation reserve?
