Hello
I hope that you are well…In June 2014-Q1b the examiner said that:
Change can be assissted by diversity of experience,views and opinions and homogenous view and conflict of ideas can act as barriers for change…..Does it mean it is better for change to have two groups with different views(one group with positive view about change(agree) and the other group with negative view about change(disagree) but these different views shouldn’t cause conflict?
Is it correct to say if all people in the oraganisation agree with the change(or are against the change) is not good for change(because it is a homogenous view about the change)?
Would you please explain me using this question as an example.

March 6, 2016 at 9:10 am #303778It means that if everyone in the organisation has the same experience, long association with the organisation etc, they can suffer from ‘group think’. They all believe the same thing and reinforce each others’ beliefs. This is a powerful barrier to change. It’s a kind of small town mentality: we’ve always one it like this and no other views are worth considering.
If, however, employees were made up of people who had been with other organisations and who move from job to job, then they bring with them a diversity of views and experience. They are likely to be more open to change because they have seen that other, successful, approaches exist.
