57%, thought I’d failed tbh so now in a rush to study SBL for March. Glad/relieved AFM is behind me though. Best of luck to those who are going again in March, no doubt you’ll get it next time.
January 17, 2023 at 7:42 am #676718i have failed sbl 5 times to get pass so i deeply understood your frustration. i passed afm on 2nd attempt. i practiced many many times on all afm past paper questions till i felt i could complete them on time. Unlike sbl, afm can get pass just by practicing past exam questions.

Do you guys have the recent BPP or kaplan text or kits for AFM 9 E version – You can share with me
January 17, 2023 at 9:14 pm #676795This is my 6th time failing this paper and it’s devastating. Those that passed with OT did you just use OT. Those that failed and eventually passed how did you change your strategy to ensure you passed please?
January 19, 2023 at 7:12 am #676986Cleared AFM with 68 on the counter. My journey as student comes to an end and I wish to extend my gratitude to the OT team for the support.
To anyone who failed AFM or any of the Level 3 papers, always keep in mind that OT is only meant to help you clear the chapters relatively faster than if you go through the books. It is your duty to ensure that you attempt a minimum of 4-5 questions per chapter in the exams kit and do 2-3 full exams on the CBE platform under timed conditions. It is also likely that the some of the questions will not be the same on exams day (happened to me for AAA/AFM) but the practice will help you get a grip on the techniques to approach the question and score easy marks even then.
Here’s my 2 cents as someone who self-studied and cleared all Level 3 papers in 2022: try to cover everything at least 1 month before exams and use the remaining time for practice and revision only.
January 21, 2023 at 5:45 am #677132I used OT lectures and notes, including the revision lectures. I read free notes on another site – doesn’t add much more than OT so more like revision. I didn’t use a textbook, nor exam kit, just free ACCA resources – past papers, videos and technical articles.
1. Watch OT lectures, work through examples and make notes as you go.
2. Read notes on another site and make revision cards for theory part.
3. Watch revision lectures while working through the exam questions at the same time.
4. Revisit OT notes and answer all questions again – recap videos if needed on tricky topics.
5. Work through more exam questions with ACCA/YouTube debriefs.
6. Work through exam questions with the answers alongside – ensure you understand techniques and make notes/recap as needed.
7. More exam practice without answers- don’t neglect theory question practice. Practice planning answers out in bullets, then type out – time management is key.
8. Technical articles – read and make notes between exam practice. I definitely gained marks due to this.
9. Focus practice on weaker areas and make notes on the steps or create mind maps to make it stick.
10. Sleep and calm – you can’t learn without it. Afternoon exams mean a lie in if nerves kept you awake. Don’t panic, at worst the exam is practice for next time, give it your best.January 21, 2023 at 6:00 am #67713312 exams sat, 12 passed first time, one at a time, average mark 76, along side work and kids so not dedicated study, only weekends and commutes. I used OT with the above steps for LW, AA, FR, FM, SBL, SBR and AFM.
January 22, 2023 at 5:09 am #677190Failed with 46%. As others have said, I was actually surprised I got that close. Was expecting way less. Actually feel motivated for the retake in March
