Sir, for PYQ Sep/Dec 2017 Q3(b)
The examiner answer states that the contract is not within scope of IFRS 9
I would like to ask is it due to the executory contract / own use contract in this case or other reason? as usually the contract for the non-financial asset that settled in cash will within the scope of IFRS 9
Thank you.
Should it be embedded derivative?
Not sure what you are doing with old syllabus questions!
Derivative – settled in cash – IFRS 9
Derivative – not settled in cash – not IFRS 9
End of knowledge!
Embedded derivative – bond whose redemption value is linked, for example, to a Stock Exchange index
