You need to understand the principles of the accounting & be able to critically evaluate them, some such as leases have recently been reviewed by the accounting standards board & as such have been tested in past P2 current issue questions.

In summary wider reading & understanding are needed.

Hi,

You need to know the current accounting standards, which you will know having studied them in both F7 and P2.

You will also need to know the principles underlying the IASB Framework, as if any rules are to be potentially changed then the potentially new rules will need to reflect the definitions in the Framework.

Once you have this knowledge then you need to read the most recent CPD articles on the ACCA website, as these give you insights into any potential changes that you can then use in the exam.

You can also look at the IASB workplan to see what they are looking to do in the future with regards any potential changes.
