    Dear Sir,

Regarding the cultural web, I dont have 100% clear how we can define the paradigm. I have check the notes, articles, lecture and revision kit but I dont still clear, as well I have check the dictionary and the internet. Is the paradigm core beliefs. and motivations of the organisation or a self-consistent set of ideas and beliefs which act as a filter, influencing how we perceive and make sense of things.f.e. Thanks a lot in advance for the clarification!

    Best regards,

    You are correct.

Think of the core differences and motivations between a profit-seeking organisation and a charity. Much of what each does is influenced by their reasons for existence: making profits or providing services and relief to those who need it.

Even within profit-seeking organisations there would be major differences between the ‘feeling’ you would get if working for one where delivering high quality was of key importance compared to one which was more orientated towards mass producing cheap goods at the lowest possible cost. The first is likely to allow employees more discretion when dealing with clients (eg high class hotel striving to please guests) whereas the second depends on strict rules to keep costs down (eg budget airline asking you pay for baggage that is 1mm too large).
