Hi, im wondering how far you can go with CIMA without experience or working in an accounting position. Im looking to bolster my CV but NOT with the aim of a entry level position as my current role is of a Senior Position so it would be a few steps back. I notice reference to hours in a relevant position and examples in a working environment so wondering if any point/benefit in doing the certificate? Bit of an odd situation but trying to safeguard future if I end up job hunting in future.

The answer might depend on your current role.I am unsure of CIMA’s current policy regarding when experience can be obtained.I am with ACCA which allows experience before, during and after obtaining qualification to count towards gaining membership as long as properly recorded.CIMA seems to require some technical financial/accounting experience as well as exam passes to gain membership. I suggest you look at following link for more information-

    Hope above helps.
