Say you are paying chargeable gain of property for disposal, how does it work if you are renting out property? Do sames rule apply if you are still living in property and not?
If you live in a property then Private Residence Relief should apply and the gain would not be taxable. The residential property tax rates will usually therefore apply to properties that are rented out or are not eligible for Private Residence Relief, for example a holiday home.
