Hello Tutor,

Can you please explain why the revaluation gain for Vader in the answer is 200 and not 100, Maul’s 50 but I believe it should be 25 (50 X 6/12)?

Hi,

I think the answer should read 100 for the gain in Vader, so I’ll look to correct that.

With regards the gain in Maul then this is correct as even though the subsidiary was acquired mid-year, the revaluation took place on the last day of the reporting period and so we controlled all of this gain. It does not therefore need to be pro-rated.
