In example 1 , why goodwill is impaired to Nil. Plz explain that.
Hi,
The CGU is impaired and the impairment is allocated against specific assets first before then being allocated to goodwill. Following the specific impairment there is sufficient impairment left that can be allocated fully to goodwill, hence it’s zero value.
