Dear Tutor,
Firstly, I really appreciate that your lectures are really well explained, thanks a lot.
So, my question is that if there is a change in ownership in between the year, not in end, so should we do workings till the time when ownership was changed and then consolidate it with rest year workings? I hope you get it.
Regards,
Hi,
Thanks for the kind words, glad you find the lectures useful.
If we have a change in ownership part way during the year then we would analyse out the net assets working (W2) in more detail. By this I mean we would have the usual at acquisition date and reporting date column but we would also have another column that details the information when the change in ownership took place. This has rarely been necessary in the exam as the changes usually happen at the end of the reporting period.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Chris
Dear Chris,
Thanks for your elaborate answer, that’s what I was thinking, just needed to confirm.
Thanks again.
