Hi fellow students and respective teachers, Can I reasonably prepare for Financial Management (F-9) exam in one month and pass it as well? How much time and effort it would take me to achieve the passing grade?

    Looking for your opinion.

    Thanks.

It really depends on how well you have retained the assumed knowledge of Management Accounting – how long preparation should be for any exam depends on how good is your foundation. If you go to ACCA’s Student Virtual Learning Centre https://studentvirtuallearn.accaglobal.com you will see “Get Ready Modules” – there are some quick MCQ tests (max 10 Qs) on four or five essential topics – if you struggle with any of those, your preparation for FM will take longer than if you sail through all the assumed knowledge. (Note that John covers all essential assumed knowledge in OpenTuition’s notes and lectures too – so there are topics you can cover very quickly if you already have a sufficient understanding of them but if, for example, you were exempt MA and haven’t studied discounted cash flow techniques, that would increase the amount of time you would need to spend studying FM.)

Thank you very much. I think, I’ll probably need to give it more than a month even though I have passed the MA exam back in time.
