    Hi Mike,

I am unsure if I should post this under ask the tutor..
I’ll be taking F7 in December and still undecided if BPP or Kaplan is the way to go for study text and exam kit?

    I basically do self study.
Would appreciate some guidance as I need to order my books and start studying soon after my September exams.

    Btw:
    For F9 I used Kaplan
    F6 I used BPP

    Thanks for the help.

Which did you enjoy more? BPP or Kaplan?

This is a matter for personal choice and NO-ONE can help you here

What I shall say is that you can save money (in two ways actually!)

    1) Do not buy a study text! Neither BPP nor Kaplan

    2) Should you decide to buy your study materials from BPP you are able to take advantage of the 20% discount available if you order through Opentuition (see the black box on the right hand side of this page)

Personally, I am NOT going to recommend any publisher above any other – it’s a matter of personal preference

    Sorry!

    Thanks Mike.
Kaplan was easier to understand but their books seem to have a lot of volume which can be off putting.

BPP was less volume to deal with, but less examples/illustrations.

    Nonetheless, thanks.

If you don’t buy a study text (as I suggested that you shouldn’t) then you won’t be faced with a volume problem!

But if you don’t buy a study text, how then do you prepare for the exams?

By following the opentuition free course notes, working through the examples, using the flash cards, practicing the mock exams, using the Ask ACCA Tutor facility, reading examiner’s comments, reading technical articles, and spending hour after hour practicing mcqs from a revision kit

There’s no time for a study text (and it’s unnecessary anyway!)

    OK?
