Can a person providing accounting services be an auditor?
September 7, 2021 at 3:50 pm #634750Your question is too vague – do you mean as an individual? Or an audit firm? What are the “accounting services”? Are you asking whether the “person” would be competent/qualified to be an auditor if they provide accounting services or whether, from an ethical perspective an auditor/audit firm can provide accounting services to an audit client. In which case, is the client listed/a “PIE” or not?
September 7, 2021 at 6:51 pm #634789As an individual and it didn’t mention whether the company was listed or not it was a general statement regarding the company. The question just mentioned that a person providing accounting services could be appointed as an auditor or not and it didn’t specify anything regarding any specific services.
