Can a person providing accounting services be an auditor?
Your question is too vague – do you mean as an individual? Or an audit firm? What are the “accounting services”? Are you asking whether the “person” would be competent/qualified to be an auditor if they provide accounting services or whether, from an ethical perspective an auditor/audit firm can provide accounting services to an audit client. In which case, is the client listed/a “PIE” or not?
As an individual and it didn’t mention whether the company was listed or not it was a general statement regarding the company. The question just mentioned that a person providing accounting services could be appointed as an auditor or not and it didn’t specify anything regarding any specific services.
Then yes (as is possible in certain circumstances) rather than no (i.e. not permitted under any circumstances).
Thank you for your kind response :))
You’re welcome.
