Hi,
I am not sure how to start gaining the PER points or what kind of position I would be able to apply for. I know that the major part of becoming an accountant is experience and so I would like to start sooner rather than later, but I am unsure of how to proceed. I have very little practical accounting experience and I am currently not employed. The trouble is that every job advert I see is asking for someone who has at least one year’s experience. I have also tried to just get some unpaid work experience of the kind sometimes given to high school students, but have been told that all the firms are working remotely and so it is not possible at the moment.
I have self-studied and completed the ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Levels 2 – 3), become a certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and taken several Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) courses. I am studying for the papers BT and MA at the moment.
Does anyone know what type of work I might be able to do or have any advice? Or, if there is any other study that I could do in addition that could help me land a job in a few months time?
Thank you
