April 15, 2019 at 10:43 am #512758Failed first attempt 44
April 15, 2019 at 11:08 am #512776I passed from the 1st attempt! 52% only, but taking into account that I had only 4 days to prepare, I am very happy. And extremely lucky, I guess! I wish I had studied more, at least a month, because the exam was very difficult – it seemed to be much more challenging than even APM and SBR! But thanks a lot to Open Tuition, I used lecture notes to prepare – very well structured and with practice questions.

@goranbi, i passed tax too and i’m attemping financial reporting in june sitting. finding it a bit challenging. what materials did you use for fr? was it also open tuition videos and notes along with revision kits?Hello Catherine.
Actually, FR was the first exam I’ve sat (June 2018), and it was maybe the easiest for me, because it’s closely related to my job.
I have used BPP text and revision kit (borrowed it from a friend).
@mazai
I’ve did Tax – UK, my first contact with UK taxation regulations, as already said, I have used opentuition videos and notes + Kaplan exam kit. Make sure to work all the examples in the notes on your own, than check for mistakes.April 15, 2019 at 11:22 am #512782passed 71%
April 15, 2019 at 11:23 am #512785Passed. Thanks to ACCA & Open Tuition for guidance and the notes 🙂
April 15, 2019 at 11:24 am #512786@mazai: ok thanks alot.really helpful information. Tax has lots of rules and so its best to just practice!! practice!! practice!!! until it the rules become common knowledge. if you can, practice all questions in the revision kits and past questions on the website.
best from Nigeria
April 15, 2019 at 1:52 pm #512778Passed 1st time with 57%. I think I lost 12 marks on basic Inheritance Tax questions (Marriage Allowance, what allowances you use up first etc). Very grateful for the Open tuition lectures – on to FR! Finally there is a test centre in Milton Keynes…

as June sitting student am disappointed with y’all passed students, everybody just posted i passed 60%, 70% 80% without leaving any suggestion.
April 17, 2019 at 9:51 am #513229to @charlamagne I used Open tuition lectures and BPP revision kit, lectures take huge amount of time to watch, but you don’t need to read a textbook afterwards. I also sit BPP and Kaplan exams (Kaplan is not free, but still recommended).
April 18, 2019 at 8:05 am #513357@charlamagne, what suggestions you do want?
Read the textbook, watch the videos, study the material, practise the questions, sit the exam.

April 20, 2019 at 9:52 am #513577Any exam tips and advice for June -2019 Tax,
1. what topics were tested on more than once either in sec A, B or C.I wouldn’t advise on this – study and revise the whole syllabus
2. is there was Q on tax planning ?
Yes, for me there was, it was about inheritance tax, but as above practise everything.
3. how was spreadsheet what features were enabled with sheet is it manageable in time ?
All usual features, but I only really used =SUM(A1:B1) for example.
4. Can we adjust the column width & height ?
Yes
5. whether it was a work book and we have to solve 1 question east on on worksheet ?
I don’t understand this question

April 22, 2019 at 1:04 pm #513735Passed on my first attempt with an amazing 57.
With only about 5 weeks of actual studying which was – watching all the open tuition videos and doing the BPP revision kit.
About to try the same thing for AA in June.

there are empty spreadsheet spaces on ACCA website, so you can try answering all section C questions from the kit on that spaces.May 16, 2019 at 3:20 pm #516147It seems like pretty much everyone passed on here… lol – failed by a mark, so got 49%.
Any tips? I feel like my section C answers were kind of just all over the place…
