July 16, 2018 at 10:09 am #463027Third attempt and 51%. Feels like 100% to me!!!
July 16, 2018 at 10:12 am #463032Passed 70% first attempt, but i only took one exam in the June sitting and put a lot of work in. To those who didn’t pass this time keep your heads up, it was a tricky exam and a lot of the time is luck of the draw with which section C questions you get. I used kaplan notes and open tuition lectures

Well, i had initially no accounting background since I had done my O levels and A levels as a science student but when I decided to do ACCA… I was advised by someone really experienced to get some exposure before you dive into ACCA… So I went ahead and did A levels in Accounting too and that actually proved to be a tremendous help!
Now talking about F5, make sure your concepts are clear and you do non-stop practice from practice kits of either Bpp or Kaplan… Do constant practise.
I will recommend you to go Section wise of the syllabus… Understand the concept and simultaneously do the questions of those topics before starting off the next section/topic… This will help u retain and understand the matter well. As you are practising see your mistakes properly. Analysing where you went wrong and why….
Keep going like this and make sure you do TONS OF PRACTICE… THE MORE THE BETTER… AND THE BETTER CHANCES OF PASSING.
I dont whether you have done F5 before or the future exam is going to be your first attempt and you are going to start from scratch?
If this is going to be your first attempt.. Then i will advise you too look into the following approach I have mentioned here
If this is not going to be your first attempt then I will advise u to first “Attack” the topic areas which you know u are weak at or dont understand the concept of… Do the question practice simultaneously. Then go to the other topics but no need to invest a lot of time… Just some of it… as revision and emphasis should be ON QUESTION PRACTICE!
This is something i would do.
I will surely advise you to get it off your mind that you dont have background knowledge of accounting… Otherwise this will keep on haunting you until the end of ACCA and deter your progress.
Hope it helps.

I studied at a center within 1 month and a half. Actually I took F4 paper as well, so in 2 weeks before exam I just spent time on F4. I didnt have enough time to read textbook so I just used passcard to summarise. I think I got high score thanks to section C because of “professional presentation” (one paragraph for each ideas, title for each ideas and bold, underline to highlight it)
July 17, 2018 at 5:35 am #463329I scored 47 Marks π
July 17, 2018 at 8:06 am #463366Hi jetavi. thanks for your tips.
