January 15, 2018 at 11:31 am #429955January 15, 2018 at 12:14 pm #429994wow First attempt 58% great
January 15, 2018 at 12:23 pm #429998first attempt, passed with 62%. I used the text book from Kaplan, exam kits from Kaplan and BPP and main source to understand everything was Open Tuitions’ notes and lectures. Thank you very much.
Two to go, almost ready to start reviewing for the March exam.January 15, 2018 at 12:35 pm #4300052nd attempt and got 49%. First time round was 48% so heading in the right direction i guess… :/
Found Section A questions really harsh though as not many were multiple choice, rather matching (with like 4-6 you have to match correctly for the 2 points!). I found the paper didnt cover the big topics at all really, barely got anything on Ratios, throughput, variances or the equations?? Maybe its just me (and being a bit of a sore loser) but thought the paper was a little off
January 15, 2018 at 12:48 pm #430017Thank you Opentuition

I totally appreciate your effort and time! You helped me pass the F5 on my first attempt. Im reading horrible stories of other people failing it and I feel so lucky I passed it with 51%
I will certainly donate. I couldnt afford lessons as my employer is not supporting me with my studies.
Once again thanks for everything!!!
January 15, 2018 at 1:25 pm #430049F5 was a troublesome one but I passed on my 5th attempt with 52%, persistence finally paid off. To those who didn’t pass Never give up, You can do this.My advice would be to practice all the past papers from the acca website along with the revision lectures on Open Tuition.

January 15, 2018 at 10:09 pm #430303@cmtanyi I don’t know if it’s a secret but I think what helped me a lot was managing my time during the exam. I went in keeping in mind the allocated time for each section and stuck to it. If there were any questions I couldn’t answer straight away or where my calculations didn’t match the options, I flagged them and moved on. There were a few like that, maybe 5-6? In the end, I only had enough time to read them again and pick a random answer for most.
As for preparation, I spent 5-6 weeks going through the lectures on OT. And then another month, going over them again and skimming over my Kaplan study text for the stuff covered in OT or searching for additional examples/resources on Google for the stuff I didn’t quite get (like sales mix and yield variance). I also did Section A&B questions in the exam kit and for section C, did a mix of about 10 to get an idea and then just read the answers to a few more.
I had a feeling I may pass but I didn’t expect that score to be honest. I’ve done AAT before and found this exam to be definitely way tougher and the time just about enough. So, again, the time management helped me a lot, I think, because there is a chance some of the questions I couldn’t answer were ‘for research purposes’.
Oops, that’s a lot of words but I hope it helps a little!
January 16, 2018 at 8:38 am #430443Has anyone applied for Administrative review in the past? If yes, whether the marks were revised? I was sure of clearing F5; but did not. Hence, i was advised to go for the review.
January 16, 2018 at 11:06 am #430479@mariyag Thank you so much for your response. Really appreciate.indeed i believe with practise questions one is able to tackle various questions in different contexts. Thank you once more.
January 16, 2018 at 12:15 pm #430487First attempt, CBE based 48% fail. I didn’t use Open Tuition lectures but I’m using them now to prepare for the second attempt in March 2018.
