    Hi,

I have 9 exemptions from uni. Meaning the only exams I have to do are the strategic business reporting and strategic business leader exams plus two of the 4 advanced papers. Since I won’t be doing the previous exams where do I start? Do I go straight into the strategic papers?

    Thanks

Since knowledge is assumed from previous papers and can be tested in more advanced level papers, I would say it is worth at least looking over the various syllabuses of previous papers. This is especially the case for the papers that feed into the more advanced papers. Financial reporting for example feeds into strategic business reporting. This site is useful as even in the strategic papers’ lectures the lecturers often go over material previously covered in earlier papers in so far as it relates to what they are covering in more advanced papers. If you have recently passed university course a lot of material will be reasonably fresh in your mind. However, I would suggest you look at previous paper syllabuses. The style of how papers are examined might also be different to what you are used to with university exams. Hope this helps.

See here in ACCA’s Virtual Learning Centre https://studentvirtuallearn.accaglobal.com – you will find diagnostic tests that will help you to identify any gaps in your assumed knowledge. You will then find that all OpenTuition resources – notes/lectures/practice tests and more are absolutely FREE to help you bridge those gaps.
